This is not fan art.
This is -- swear to Walt -- an authentic, Disney-created, comic book cover. Well, and Marvel too!
Apparently, Disney has taken advantage of having the ability to have comics in every comic book shop (and a good deal of regular book shops) in America and is diving into the Imagineers' archives. Including bringing back a certain Dreamfinder.
And making him young and sexy.
Geek & Sundry has the exclusive announcement, but the fans on the internet have already gone running with it. More links to interviews with the writer, Jim Zub, can be found on the writer's website! The artist, Filipe Andrade, also has a blog, though I see no art from this comic there yet. I must also give credit to the cover artist, John Tyler Christopher, because daaaaaa-aaaaamn.
So, yeah, I've been kind of panting over this since yesterday (if you follow me on Twitter, you saw me basically erupt with joy yesterday afternoon over it). I don't want to get my hopes up TOO high, but it's SO NICE to see some of the original EPCOT brought back. And, weirdly, "modernized," even though it's steampunk since, despite Dreamfinder floating around on a zeppelin, that wasn't a big thing back in the 1980s.
Dreampunk, guys. Disney was ahead of the curve ;)
